Big Doings at NEW DURHAM SCHOOL for 2024-2025!
“Whine and Cheese” nights will be offered on the third Wednesday evening of each
month beginning at 5:30PM in the school library. A parent survey is going out to help us
develop topics for discussion. The first meeting on October 16 th will be to discuss the
book Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. If you would like to participate, we have
extra copies.
Have your kids told you that we have been starting our days with morning recess? The
weather is amazingly beautiful. Research is showing that more free play and more time
in nature leads to happier, healthier, more regulated and ready to learn students.
NDS will be participating in the Let Grow program, encouraged by the Dept of
Education, author Jonathan Haidt and researchers at Boston College to name a few.
Come to the PTO meeting on 9/18 at 5:30PM or to the gym at 6:30 during Open House
on 9/25 to learn more!
Thank you to those who volunteered their time to help during the Spaghetti Dinner
Thursday evening. Thank you to those who donated and to those who attended. Your
support of a local family (NDS alumni) was most appreciated. Over 200 people
attended.
