Anxiety, Stress, Smartphones and Students: What’s New... and What to Do

Lynn Lyons presents

Friday, August 23rd at 9:00am-noon

to Families, Staff, Students ages 12+

Kingswood Arts Center

As we work to emotionally and socially equip the whole student, there is great opportunity to learn what works and what doesn’t. What are these traps we fall into that inadvertently strengthen anxiety and depression?  How do we act proactively and preventatively to interrupt these patterns?  What are the myths we need to bust, the paradigms we need to shift, and the skills we must continue to build?  How do schools best collaborate with parents who are often overwhelmed and frustrated? What’s the role of an outside provider, and how can we best communicate?

Anxiety feels powerful and messy; the goal is to demystify its repetitive processes and think preventatively. Based on current research and 35 years of clinical experience, Lynn Lyons presents a school-wide framework that highlights and nurtures strategic social-emotional learning skills that benefit students, educators, and families. We hope you can join us for this special event at no charge to attendees.
